Overview
System notifications are a convenient way to let people know what tasks they need to take. They are fully automated and sent from notifications@betterworks.com which will need to be whitelisted to prevent the emails from ending up in Junk or Spam folders.
System notifications are enabled by default, but can be disabled using the Turn Off button. Note that even when disabled, it is still possible for the platform to send emails based on the notification settings used on a conversation or feedback template.
System notifications are received by email by default, but Slack and Microsoft Teams can also be used to receive notifications. Individuals can decide which notifications they wish to receive and how from their own Notifications page under My Settings.
Configuring system notifications
Admins the ability to manage System Notifications for Betterworks users, but the first step is to enable it from Admin > Program Management > System Notifications:
From here, you can set the default (On/Off) for specific notifications.
Using "Custom" means there is no default and users can go into their own Betterworks accounts to determine their notification settings (Profile dropdown menu > My Settings > Notifications). Alternatively, the "Lock" function prevents these changes:
Note: Email copy cannot be edited.
Note: if a department owns an objective the system will always send emails to all members of that department for OKR comments, cheers/nudges and progress updates. This can not be controlled on the Notifications page.
