Priority for OKRs?

Would be great to be able to set a default order/priority to a list of OKRs (say, a view of OKRs with the same category for instance)

Hi Ariel, thanks for asking the first question in our new Community pages!  You can setup filters to view a list of OKRs by Category in Betterworks today.  If that doesn't work, give us a few more details regarding your use case and we'll see if we can come up with any other recommendations.

  • Actually the order logic could be a property of the view itself

  • Thanks Greg for your answer! Hope to be the first of many!

Yeah, we are using categories as well. What I saw is that Os or KRs can be moved up/down when you are seeing its parent O and thats great. But in our case, we have views that filter by certain categories and what I see is a list of say 10 OKRs. Now, those are one Dept.'s OKRs and that Dept. would like to include a sense of priority to those OKRs.

I guess that more than an ordering function in a view what would be useful might be an optional field of priority for an OKR (Low, Mid, High kind of thing) to differentiate the must from the should? Maybe I'm derailing the OKR theory here so I apologize. This is just an inquiry from the trenches :)

    Ari

  • This would be great for us. To even take it further and maybe number them? Not just Objectives, but key results as well. So it is very clear that X KR had to happen before Y KR, and Q, R, and S KR can happen at any time

  • I've run into this as well - yes, would be great to order things.  A workaround that I have used is to actually number them (literally put a number in front of the name of the objective).  This will force your ordering as it sorts alphabetically.

  • Would really love this feature as well. The ability to indicate priority amongst goals all marked with the same category would be a game changer!
