TriNet Zenefits Integration (NextGen)

Contents

Overview

The TriNet Zenefits integration for Betterworks allows you to:

  • Create accounts for new users.
  • Update the accounts of existing users (e.g., manager change, title change, etc.).
  • Deactivate the accounts of users who are no longer with your organization.

This is done using TriNet Zenefits' API.

Mapping

Once the integration is active, the following fields are synced by default.

Configuration

Note: The TriNet Zenefits integration must be configured by someone who is both a "Super Admin" in Betterworks and an "Admin" in TriNet Zenefits.

  1. Access the Third-party page.
    • Click Admin on the top banner menu.
    • Select the Program Configuration header from the left panel.
    • Select Integrations.
    • Select the Third-party tab.

  2. Scroll down to Zenefits and expand the section.

  3. Click the toggle to Enable the integration

  4. Click Set up in Zenefits.

  5. Enter your credentials.

  6. Click Sign In

  1. Use the TriNet Zenefits filters to exclude any users who should not be synced to Betterworks.

  2. Click Authorize after reviewing the data that will be sent to Betterworks.

  3. Click Sync.

  4. Reach out to the Betterworks Support Team (support@betterworks.com) with the Technical Contact outlined below. They will apply the information on their end and reply with a confirmation.

Technical Contact

The Technical Contact is the group email address where automated error notifications should be sent. An automated error notification will be sent to the group email address if/when an error is found during the sync. Error notifications are batched, meaning that each error will not trigger its own email. If 10 errors are found, they will all be included in one email.

Data Sync

The data sync runs every day to ensure that records are kept up to date.

Note: Any changes made through other user management options will be overwritten by the TriNet Zenefits integration during the next data sync.

Errors

If an error is found during the sync, refer to this article to resolve it.

FAQs

Some users who should be active are being deactivated. How can I correct this?

The filters are based on employment status in TriNet Zenefits. Check the employment status in TriNet Zenefits, then check if that status has been filtered out in Betterworks. If so, either update the user's employment status or update the filters.
